My last post may have had a bit of a negative vibe to it and for that I apologize. Sometimes it’s hard to keep your blog from your life separate. Other times you wonder if your blog IS your life or is it the life you pretend and want it to be. That’s something I’ve been thinking about lately because sometimes it seems like it’s just a facade. I guess I should look at my achievements and tell myself that I really have done all that stuff and that they’re not fake.

While this is a business blog, I feel like a lot of young entrepreneurs and college students out there are going through similar things as me. Considering this, I may sometimes post about stuff that may not be directly related to business, but definitely something a majority of my readers might be able to relate to. LIfe isn’t all about business, afterall.

Right now, I’m taking it easy. I don’t really know where I’m going. Yeah I’m in a fraternity, which is great. However, I’m not doing the many other things I want to do. I don’t even want to go to school anymore because there are so many things it keeps me from doing. There are so many books like Think and Grow Rich and Branson’s Losing my Virginity that I still haven’t gotten to. I still don’t have a steady stream of income coming in like I want to, but I’m working on that. Hopefully, next school year will bring more success with Walamu and maybe I’ll even find some funding. But most of all I want to re-examine my goals and find out where I want to go. What do I want from life is the question. I want this upcoming summer to be one of action as well as one of both relaxation and progress.

Less Talk, More Action

It is 3:20am as I write this. I aplogize in advance because this isn’t going to be one of my most eloquent posts by far. However, I think it’s better that I write something than nothing at all.

The past few weeks have been extremely busy with the fraternity and enjoyable as well. Far more busy than pledging even. I have no regrets about joining and encourage everyone else who gets the opportunity to do so. Even though it’s still early, I can tell that it will make a difference in my life and a change in my character.

Right now I’m not in the best of mind states. What I do want to say, however, that the only way to truly be successful when you go out to achieve a goal is through action: Less talk, more action. From a symbolic and realistic point of view, it doesn’t matter how funny or charismatic of a guy you are, how much you make the girl laugh, or how many clues she’s giving you. If you don’t make a move, it’s your loss. You have to have the balls the make the move because it’s ALWAYS the guy who makes the move that gets the girl. I’ll be honest…I’ve experienced this situation more than I’d like to admit in the past couple months. However, it’s so true and it will leave you feeling like sh*t when the girl you were flirting with all night gets taken away by the guy who had the balls to make a strong move. It’s the same for business. Don’t beat around the bush. Go for what you want. If you want a particular client, a certain number of orders from a client, or whatever it may be, just make sure you’re the guy that makes the move and not the guy that gets left in the dust flirting with the proposition of making it to home base.

Breaking Point

My apologies for not having posted in a few weeks. I had been extremely busy and under extenuating circumstances which kept me from posting.

To be honest, the last few weeks have been about keeping myself pushing hard towards my goals even when I feel like I’m at my breaking point. When you feel like you can’t take it anymore, when you start questioning why you’re doing what you’re doing, when you feel like your body is decaying from your consistent efforts and is about to collapse, THAT’S the moment where you have to push just a little harder to realize your goals. Block out all that pain and visualize yourself having achieved your goal. It’s at your breaking point that you will need the most motivation and it is that point at which you need to keep pushing the most.

All-nighters, crack-of-dawn mornings, and physical exhaustion have been the norm for me for the past few weeks, but I am happy to say that I stuck to it at my breaking point and am very proud to have reached my goal.

So just remember- keep pushing.
