Rohail, I think it’s great that you are striving to build your fortune on your own. You have a true entrepreneurial spirit. However, I think you’ve gotten caught up in affiliate marketing and have lost sight of your real goals.
Try and calculate how much money you have made from affiliate marketing, and subtract everything you have paid. Then divide it by the amount of hours you have put into this. How much are you really making? To be fair, you probably got off to a slow start and will make more in the future than you make now, so let’s be generous and double the number that you got before. How much are you making now?
I’m sure you are in the green, but I’m also sure that number is nowhere near what you want to make. It’s probably not even on par with what you would make working a regular day job. Plus, with a regular job you get benefits, which you won’t get from affiliate marketing. Being an entrepreneur is about taking risks, which you have certainly done. But another part of being an entrepreneur is recognizing when that risk isn’t paying off, and getting out before you lose more.
Look at the facts. Affiliate marketing is, at best, for people who want to make a modest income from the comfort of their home. You don’t strike me as that kind of person.
I’ve always believed that before success comes failure after failure and that’s the way I see it with affiliate marketing. I’m in the red…way in the red with all my latest testing and issues with tracking and networks not recording my conversions and traffic. But I’m looking at it as an investment in my education to succeed in the industry.
Your words are very kind and I agree with you in that I have taken a little side journey into affiliate marketing – but that’s all it is – a little side journey. And if I can’t make it big as an affiliate marketer then what chance do I have to make it big in something else. It is possible – but I feel like I should be able to master this and learn marketing first hand before I veer off into launching any other companies.
And affiliate marketers aren’t just people looking to make a modest income. I’m hanging out, networking, and talking to guys that are making $1000 and even $5000 a day profit. I wouldn’t call that modest. Sure it’s not Bill Gates status, but it does give a person plenty of freedom depending on how much they like to automate their business. I’m not sure where you got your facts on that one. Most AM’ers aren’t just getting their residual income from an Amazon blog…they’re actively playing the field in a good and bad economy.
I’m one to risk more than the average person, I’ll admit that. Whether it’s stupid risk or smart risk, it’s still to be seen. But what others see as a loss, I often see as a valuable learning experience. In fact, the return I’ll probably make from all my losses/learning experiences in AM will no doubt be much greater that the financial return of my college degree. I appreciate your kind words again, but AM is much bigger than you think – I think it’s the way a majority of things will be bought and sold in the future. And again, just because I’m doing AM doesn’t mean I won’t be doing other things in addition to it in the future
Have you seen the bank statements for these people claiming to make $1000-$5000 a day? I have no doubt that they have had days where they made $1000, just like you can go to AC and make $1000 in a day. But in the long run, I doubt there are a lot of people making high six-figures profits off of this. Why do you have reason to believe otherwise? Because they told you so? I’m sure you’ve already seen how “stretching the truth” plays into this business.
If you really want to make an investment of your time and effort, join the marketing team of a real company. Learn the game from professionals, then take that knowledge and start your own business. As an extra bonus, you’ll actually make money and get benefits instead of being in the red.
My dream is to go there so this is a good opportunity for me to try to reach it. i don’t know person who don’t want to spend a little time there. All we need is beach, sun i nice people.
